Syrsky: Another 13 Km² Of Russia’s Kursk Region Сame Under Control Of Ukraine

The Armed Forces of Ukraine control 93 settlements.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have already occupied 1,263 km² of the territory of the Kursk region of the aggressor country Russia and have taken control of 93 settlements. This was announced on August 20 by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky during a speech via video link at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (broadcast on the YouTube channel “Rada”).

“The defense force groups are conducting an offensive defense in the Kursk direction. During the offensive in the territory of the Kursk region, the armed forces advanced to a depth of the enemy's defense from 28 to 35 kilometers,” Syrsky said.

According to him, the enemy “is conducting a maneuverable defense, trying to prevent further advancement of the Ukrainian defense forces unit deep into the territory of the Russian Federation,” and is also “building up groups and moving troops from other directions.”

“Further actions of our troops in this direction will directly depend on the development of the operational situation,” the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasized.
