Kamala Harris Vows To Be ‘President For All Americans’

The politician has officially agreed to run for US President.

US Vice President Kamala Harris has officially agreed to run for president from the Democrats.

This is reported by CNN.

It should be noted that this happened on the last day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, on August 22.

“On behalf of the people, on behalf of every American, regardless of party, race, gender or the language a grandmother speaks, on behalf of my mother and everyone who has ever set out on their own unlikely journey, on behalf of Americans, like the people I grew up with, people who work hard, chase their dreams and look out for one another, on behalf of everyone whose story could only be written in the greatest nation on Earth, I accept your nomination to be President of United States,” she said as the crowd broke out in cheers.

In addition, during her speech, the vice president addressed Republicans who are hesitant about voting for her. She vowed to be president for “all Americans”.

CNN adds that Harris is the first Black woman and first Asian American to lead a major-party ticket. If she wins, she will become the first female Indian American president.

US Elections

The upcoming US elections will be held on November 5 this year. The newly elected president and vice president will take office on January 20, 2025, after the inauguration.

Harris' main rival for the highest state post is former US president and current Republican candidate Donald Trump.
