Strike On ‘Kavkaz’ Port: Russia Closes Kerch Crossing

The consequences of the attack were serious.

After the strike on the ferry in the Kavkaz port, the Kerch crossing, which connects the temporarily occupied Crimea and Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation, was temporarily closed.

This is reported by pro-Kremlin ‘RIA-Novosti’ and TASS with reference to the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that the crossing was closed to ‘eliminate the consequences of the strike’ on the ferry in the port of ‘Kavkaz’.

In the afternoon of August 22, the Ukrainian military launched a powerful strike on the Kavkaz port. It was reported that the Konro Trader ferry loaded with fuel tanks caught fire.

Subsequently, the media reported that the ferry of the occupants went to the bottom, and in social networks wrote that there were 30 tanks with fuel on the ferry at the time of the strike. The Russians brought in a fire train to put out the powerful fire.

It was then reported that the Konro Trader ferry was probably hit by a Ukrainian missile, possibly a Neptun. OSINT analysts claim that the stricken Konro Trader was the only large ferry still operating between the occupied city of Kerch and Russia.
