Ukraine Independence Day Was Celebrated In The Center Of Warsaw

30,000 people gathered on Castle Square.

On August 24, the Independence Day of Ukraine was celebrated in the center of Warsaw.

The event was organized by the Euromaidan-Warsaw public organization and the Stand With Ukraine fund.

After 17.30, more than 30,000 people gathered on Castle Square in the Polish capital.

Leading the celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine were the leader of the Euromaidan-Warsaw organization Natalia Panchenko and journalist, Editor-in-Chief of the New Poland portal and host of the Studio X-97 show by Сharter97.org Evhen Klimakin.

Editor-in-Chief of Сharter97.org Natallia Radzina also attended the event.

The audience observed a minute of silence for the Ukrainians who died because of Russian aggression.

According to the video, the participants of the rally were addressed by participants of the combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including well-known Belarusians and Ukrainians who are now fighting at the front for Ukraine.

On behalf of the Belarusian volunteers, the commander of the Kalinouski regiment, Pavel "Dziadzka" Shurmei, addressed the audience.

Serhiy Zhadan, a well-known Ukrainian author, a fighter of the Charter Battalion, also read out his appeal.

The rally also hosted the presentation of the "Stand With Ukraine Awards", which celebrate the citizens of Poland who support Ukrainians in the fight against Russia.

At the end of the celebration, a big concert was held with the participation of the Ukrainian band "Izzy", the Polish-Ukrainian DagaDana and the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, the Crimean Tatar singer Jamala.
