The battle for the checkpoint continues.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to break through the border with the Belgorod region of Russia. A battle with Russian border guards began. This was reported by the Russian publication Shot.

“The Ukrainian Armed Forces in 8 armored vehicles approached the border with Belgorod Region — a battle with Russian border guards is underway near the village of Nekhoteyevka. Preliminary, the enemy has 8 armored vehicles and up to 60 soldiers. When approaching the border, they were driven back by artillery and aviation, but those who hid in the forest belt continue to fire. They are fighting for the checkpoint. They began moving around 8 am,” the report says.

Another Russian publication Mash writes that 500 Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters are storming the Russian border.

“Right now, a group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters, consisting of about 500 people, are trying to break through in the area of Nekhoteyevka and the Shebekino checkpoint in the Belgorod region. Judging by the intercepted radio communications, the militants include foreign mercenaries from Poland, Georgia and the United States. According to our information, there is a battle going on near Nekhoteyevka — there, Ukrainian soldiers numbering up to 200 people in several infantry fighting vehicles arrived at positions near the state border and tried to cross it,” the report says.

At the same time, the publication notes that about 300 Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters went to the Shebekino checkpoint.

“The battle is still going on there. The border guards fought back, then helicopters arrived and fired at the enemy group. Today is exactly three weeks since the Ukrainian soldiers invaded the Kursk region,” the report says.

The media writes that the border breakthrough in the Belgorod region occurred according to the same scheme as in the Kursk region.

The Ukrainian command has not yet commented on the fighting in the Belgorod region.
