New Explosion Heard At ‘Atlas’ Oil Depot Burning In Rostov Region

After that the fourth tank caught fire.

There has been another explosion at the burning Russian Atlas oil depot near the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in Rostov region (RF). The facility has been on fire since yesterday following a drone attack.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Russian media and Telegram channels.

Emergency services continue to work at ‘Combine Atlas’ in the Rostov region, trying to cope with the powerful fire.

According to the SHOT Telegram channel, eyewitnesses heard an explosion at the oil facility late Wednesday night.

The Russian side also cites the preliminary cause of this explosion as depressurisation of one of the three burning tanks as a result of the fire.

Meanwhile, Baza clarifies that a fourth tank at the Atlas oil depot has already caught fire due to depressurisation and a new explosion.

‘More than 200 people are trying to put out the fire,’ this Telegram channel adds.

According to the Astra publication, after the new explosion at the facility in Rostov region, the glow from the fire can be seen dozens of kilometres away.

Footage of the incident at the burning oil depot near the town of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky was made public in the network.

We remind you, on August 28, the ‘Atlas’ oil depot in Rostov region was attacked by drones. This resulted in a large-scale fire and serious damage to fuel tanks at the facility.

It should be noted that this oil depot is part of the Russian military-industrial complex that supplies oil products to the army.
