Podolyak: Poland Ready To Help To Return Men Liable For Military Duty To Ukraine

The process will take place on a voluntary basis.

Ukraine is working on returning of men liable for military duty from abroad, Poland is ready to help in this. However, it is impossible to return them forcibly, emphasised the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak.

‘Poland is ready to help. It even started this recruiting project there, voluntarily. We can't do it forcibly, because the laws of other countries are distinct - if a person applied, received asylum or otherwise legalised on the territory of this country, no one will forcibly send him to war,’ he said in an interview with Novosti.LIVE.

Asked whether the men are returning voluntarily through the aforementioned recruitment centres, Podolyak said ‘yes’. He added, however, that ‘this is a process, and it should gain momentum.’

‘But it's good already that there are such sites where you can come. It is especially important for those who want to legalise - not everyone left legally, especially at the beginning of the war. Today there is a certain change in legislation on regulating mobilisation processes in Ukraine. Undoubtedly, a lot of people need to legalise. Someone will go through legalisation because he thinks about his future, his family and so on. Again, the question is that a lot of people are afraid, but some of them are overcoming this fear. And this is a process,’ he summarised.
