Representative Of Ukraine To The UN: Putin is confused

The diplomat explained the goal of the Ukrainian forces in the Kursk operation.

The Ukrainian forces have launched a military operation in the Kursk region to reduce the threat of an offensive by Russian troops in the direction of the Sumy region. The Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Serhiy Kyslytsya said during a meeting of the UN Security Council in New York, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, Ukraine could not remain on the sidelines, watching Russia's military buildup in the Kursk region and preparations for an attack on the Sumy region, similar to the Russian offensive on Kharkiv from the Belgorod region in May.

Kyslytsya also emphasized that, in response to this threat, Ukraine has launched a defensive operation in certain areas of the Kursk region.

"Thanks to these preemptive measures, the immediate danger of the occupation of Sumy was reduced. The dictator's confusion is evidenced by the fact that for several days he could not find the strength and courage to appear before the public," the diplomat said.

He added that the so-called "liberation" of dozens of cities and villages in Donbas by Russia actually led to their complete destruction and depopulation.

"Ukraine will continue to fight against this modern barbarity everywhere, including on Russian territory," he noted.
