Smuggling is under attack.
Poland has intercepted Belarusian contraband cigarettes. They were found at the border crossing in Siemianówka in a freight train arriving from Belarus, the customs office in Białystok reports.
During the inspection of the train, customs officers found 5,400 packs of cigarettes hidden in 4 tanks with liquid resin. To protect the packaging, they were wrapped in film. The cost of the cigarettes is estimated at 75 thousand zlotys (19 thousand dollars). An investigation has been launched.
It should be noted that today Aliaksandr Lukashenka convened a meeting on the development of the tobacco industry. The meeting discussed the work of tobacco factories under sanctions, and “conceptual decisions” were made regarding the development of the industry from 2025.
