Lukashenka Signs Decree On Autumn Conscription

Who will be called up?

Aliaksandr Lukashenka signed a decree on August 7 on dismissal to the reserve and conscription for compulsory military service, service in the reserve, the press service reported.

The document provides for the conscription in September-November 2024 for compulsory military service, service in the reserve of male citizens of Belarus who have turned 18 by the day of conscription and who do not have the right to a deferment from conscription, as well as citizens of draft age who have lost the right to a deferment.

“The adoption of the decree will allow the republican government bodies, local executive and administrative bodies to carry out measures to conscript citizens for compulsory military service and service in the reserve in a timely manner,” the press service reported.

At the same time, the decree provides for the dismissal to the reserve of military personnel of compulsory military service who have served the established terms.
