Military expert about the mass attack of drones on the capital of the Russian Federation.
Tonight, drones attacked Moscow, the Moscow region and five other regions of Russia. The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation reported the shooting down of 144 drones.
How is this attack different from the previous ones? The Charter97.org website talked about the situation with the Ukrainian defence observer of the Information Resistance Group, Oleksandr Kovalenko:
— To begin with, last night a large number of Ukrainian-made drones were sent into the airspace of the Russian Federation to the relevant facilities that are associated with the Russian occupation forces, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the defence industry.
In particular, the strikes were carried out on Zhukovsky airfield, where Russian military-type aviation is also located, which is also used for testing.
I emphasize that the fact that some of the drones fell in the residential sector of Moscow is the work of Russian air defence. Maybe it was better not to shoot down! The drone is quietly heading to destroy a military facility or an aircraft that is parked on the runway.
Again, these drones flew not so much to Moscow as to the relevant military facilities. For what got there to Moscow responsible their air defence systems. First of all, to the EW troops.
— As a result of the attack, traffic on the Kashirskoye highway near Moscow was blocked, the runway of the Zhukovsky airport near Moscow was hit. Is this the result of some new tactics of drone operators or an indicator of an even more deplorable state of Russian air defence?
— Drones have already got at the Morozovsk airfield (Rostov region), Engels, Baltimore and many others.
Attacking areas where Russian tactical or strategic aviation is deployed is our integral task to neutralize aviation risks for Ukraine.
I wouldn't say it's some new tactic. Let's just say that after the previous operations, it was Moscow's turn.
