Tank Factory On Fire In Russia's Omsk

The enterprise is under Western sanctions.

On September 12, in the afternoon, the roof of the workshop of the oldest in the Siberian region plant ‘Omsktransmash’ caught fire in the Russian city of Omsk. This was reported by Omsk Governor Vitaly Khotsenko on his Telegram channel.

According to the operational information of the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Omsk region, 61 people and 18 units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.

As Vedomosti noted, the Omsk plant is part of Rostec State Corporation. The plant manufactures military equipment (tanks), road-building machines, oil and gas production equipment and railway equipment. Since 2022, the plant has been under international sanctions of all EU countries, the USA, Japan, Canada, Ukraine and Switzerland.
