The US Launches Fighter Jet With Unprecedented Arsenal Of Ultra-Long-Range Missiles

This is the first time in history.

A series of photos have emerged showing the US Navy's F/A-18F Super Hornet with an unprecedented arsenal of air-to-air missiles, including the ultra-long-range AIM-174B missiles. The War Zone reported.

The fighter jet is also equipped with three medium-range AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles and a pair of short-range AIM-9X Sidewinders.

The aircraft in the photo belongs to the Navy's Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Nine (VX-9). It is stationed at the Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake in California.

The fact is that Chinese fighter jets are beginning to outgun American aircraft, as they have received their own advanced air-to-air missiles.

Previously, Chinese J-16 fighters were spotted with a secret long-range missile, the PL-17. It is believed that it can hit targets at a range of about 300 km.
