Strikes On Russia: Over 80% Of Russian Aviation Will Be Unable To Carry Out Their Missions

A military expert has revealed the details.

Ukraine receiving permission to carry out strikes with Western long-range missiles on Russian territory will significantly help the front. More than 80% of Russian combat aviation will not be able to carry out combat missions in the airspace of Ukraine, and the offensive capabilities of the infantry without air support will be undermined by 30% of the total fire potential. This was reported by military and political observer Oleksandr Kovalenko.

“If they were at air bases outside the 300-kilometer zone, the Su-25, Ka-52 and Mi-25 would not be able to carry out their combat missions on the territory of Ukraine due to their limited range,” he noted.

It may take several weeks to notice the results of strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation, because the Russian Federation itself must feel a threat to its air bases.

“In matters of using attack aircraft, as well as helicopters, yes (they will help the front — edit.), but not immediately. Why? Because first the Russians must feel a threat to their air bases, through which the corresponding weapons will fly and where the same Su-25 or Ka-52, Mi-28, Mi-24/35 are deployed, which are used specifically to support the offensive activities of the infantry, and this takes time — several weeks,” added Oleksandr Kovalenko on the air of Kyiv 24.

The expert noted that in this case, only Su-34, Su-35 will be present in the airspace of Ukraine. As a result, “the fire impact on our positions will decrease several times”.

What is known about the permission to use weapons for strikes on the Russian Federation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly requested permission to use American missiles. Each time he was refused — in particular, the use of ATACMS was not allowed due to their limited number.

On September 12, it became known that the United States may allow the use of missiles for strikes on military facilities of the Russian Armed Forces on the territory of Russia. But there is a nuance here: permission may be granted to use Storm Shadow and their French counterparts Scalp to hit targets on Russian territory. This would require support from the UK and France.
