A new breakthrough.
What at first seemed like a short and shallow offensive actually grew into something much more dangerous for Russian control over the Kursk region.
This is reported by Forbes, analyzing the situation on the new sector of the front in the Kursk region after the Armed Forces of Ukraine broke through the defence of the Russian Armed Forces on another section of the Russian-Ukrainian border last week.
According to the author of the publication, Ukrainian tanks entered the village of Veseloe, and a fighter-bomber of the Ukrainian Air Force dropped a satellite-guided glide bomb on the building in which the Russian military was probably located.
Also, Forbes emphasizes that in the Russian garrison around Vesoloe there is a large number of poorly trained young conscripts, who, according to the Kremlin's policy, should not participate in hostilities.
It is noted that the strong dependence of the northern grouping of Russian troops on conscripts for initial defence against the main Ukrainian strike in the Kursk region, which began in August, is one of the reasons why the Ukrainians managed to advance so quickly.
“This is an ominous sign to the Russians that their defensive efforts in Vesoloe appear to also depend on untrained young men,” Forbes writes.
At the same time, the author of the article emphasizes, the Ukrainians participating in the battles are battle-hardened volunteers supported by tanks, drones and military aircraft.
