Emils Asars has gone missing in our country.
Latvian volunteers from the organization supporting Belarusians FreeBelarus published a photo of Emils Asars in a jacket with a white-red-white stripe on the collar and suggested that it could have been the reason for the guy's detention in Belarus.
According to the information from relatives, he left on the morning of September 11. Asars was driving a Chrysler and was supposed to take a female friend to Verkhniadzvinsk. He planned to enter Belarus through the Paternieki-Hryharaushchyna border checkpoint at about 10:00.
On September 12, his relatives received a call from a Belarusian number, which stated that Asars had been detained by the police.
It was not possible to contact this number again, and there was no official information from the Belarusian border guards. Asars's phone has remained disconnected since his arrest.
The Latvian police have been informed and are searching.
