The Russian military has found itself in a natural cauldron.
The Russian authorities have announced a mandatory evacuation from the Russian city of Rylsk. The Ukrainian forces may surround this city from two sides.
A military expert, pilot instructor and retired colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Roman Svitan spoke about this in a daily report on Channel 24, noting that there are Ukrainian troops in the Sumy region that have been withdrawn for defence and that can be used if necessary.

Thus, there is a road from Glukhov to the Russian city of Rylsk that can be used to move equipment. According to Svitan, the Russians are also considering this, which is why they are evacuating the population.
"The idea is not bad. If we start moving from Glukhov to Rylsk, we can completely cut off the Russian group, which is mired in fighting in the Snagost area in the Kursk region,” the retired colonel noted.
The Russian military themselves have fallen into a natural cauldron – they are cut off by the Seim River. If we also cut them off north of the Seim along the highway, then 5,000-7,000 occupiers will fall into the cauldron, including paratroopers.
The Ukrainian forces are preparing many cauldrons for the occupiers
The Ukrainian forces are conducting maneuver battles in the Kursk direction, in particular, they are trying to make small cauldrons for the Russians. Ukrainian soldiers are using this strategy along the entire front. According to Svitan, this strategy was chosen because the enemy can continue to use KABs, so we cannot build fortifications in this direction.
"This is an operational encirclement, when the enemy, who has taken up residence in some Russian village, has all supply chains cut off and they wait until he "cooks" and comes out with his hands up," the reserve colonel explained.
According to him, this is the most effective way, allowing many Russian occupiers to be captured for exchange and reducing personnel losses.
