Media: China Put Pressure On Lukashenka

Warsaw's plan is working.

China asked Lukashenka to normalize relations with Poland. The fact that such a request was voiced was confirmed by Nasha Niva's sources in diplomatic circles.

Even the fact that Lukashenka is forced to release political prisoners may also be a reaction to China's request — it is possible that Andrzej Poczobut may be among the next batch of pardoned people.

However, Lukashenka himself is too actively denying the fact that such a request from the Chinese leadership was received in principle.

“The Chinese forced Lukashenka to soften his policy towards Poland. We did not even discuss these issues with China. Knowing me, Xi Jinping will never say that you should do something in Poland,” Lukashenka said.

At the same time, he admitted that he has ties to illegal migrants who are trying to cross the Belarusian-Polish border.

One of the largest economic partners of the Lukashenka regime allegedly asked for normalization of relations between Belarus and Poland after Polish President Andrzej Duda said in late June during a visit to Shanghai that a hybrid attack on the border with Belarus was hindering the Belt and Road Initiative. One of the threats to China is the closure of rail traffic through Belarus to Poland and further to other EU countries.
