It was an outstanding operation.
The strike on the Russian arms depot in Toropets will force the Russians to conceal the location of such facilities. Military expert Oleksandr Musienko said this on air of the TV marathon.
According to him, it was an outstanding operation. The arsenal could be empty or filled only partially. However, you can see from the level of detonation that there was indeed a lot of weapons there.
‘It was most likely not 100 per cent filled, but enough weapons were stored, and there is preliminary confirmation that there could have been ballistic missiles there as well,’ Musienko said.
He also said that the strategic intent of the strike was to destroy the enemy's missile capability. Iskander, S-300 and KN-23 are being hunted.
‘When there is information that they may appear in some warehouses, there is a work-up on them. In order to minimise and try to delay large-scale attacks by the enemy using ballistic weapons,’ Musienko said.
According to the expert, all military facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation are known, but not all can be hit. Although air defence covers only a part of them.
Musienko also said that the Russians will try to find a way to conceal the location of warehouses and arsenals. Thus, the enemy has already started to use wooded areas for camouflage. This may create some difficulty for Ukraine.
‘The warehouse in Soldatskoye in Voronezh region was also hidden like this, but it was found. They are starting to actually move them, to use not stationary facilities but to develop field camps-positions, trying to camouflage this because they realise they can see it from space. They start to store in smaller batches and move them as well, in order to disperse and make a lot of these storage points,’ the expert said.
