Ukrainian Forces Make Second Successful Breakthrough Since Start Of Kursk Military Operation

Ukrainian troops have advanced in the Glushkovsky district.

Ukrainian forces are advancing in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region. Geolocated footage from September 23 showed the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the southern outskirts of Veseloye. At the same time, Russian war correspondents are writing about battles in the area of Medvezhye and Novy Puts.

Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have voiced the situation on this section of the front over the past day.

The day before, one of the Ukrainian airborne brigades posted new footage of a breakthrough at the border with the Russian Federation online. However, the video does not say when this happened or what section of the border is being discussed.

It is only known that this is the second successful breakthrough since the Kursk military operation. OSINT analysts claim that the footage shows the breakthrough by the AFU on September 11-12 in the Glushkovsky district.

ISW cannot report what kind of breakthrough is being discussed in yesterday's footage from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Z-channels writes that battles also occur in other areas of the Kursk region, including Darino, Lyubimovka, Malaya Loknya, Plekhovo and Nikolayevo-Daryino. Russian media write about the advancement of the Russian Armed Forces in the Plekhovo area, but ISW cannot confirm this.

In the Kursk region, the occupiers from the 51st Airborne Regiment, the 810th Marine Regiment, the 30th Motorized Regiment and the 155th Marine Brigade are fighting against the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
