Russian Military Man Kills Woman Mistaking Her For Spy Because Of Hearing Aid

He considered the hearing aid itself to be a recording device for wiretapping.

In St. Petersburg, a cadet of a military academy massacred a hearing-impaired woman, mistaking her for a spy because of her hearing aid, nv.ua reported.

Reportedly, 28-year-old Nikolai Tikhonov met his 41-year-old victim in a club and then went to her home.

According to the cadet, the woman introduced herself as a foreigner and was asking him about military service, so when he heard the sound produced by her hearing aid, he decided that it was a ‘wiretapping device’ and she herself was a ‘Ukrainian spy’.

‘First Tikhonov hit her on the head with his fist, and when the victim fell down, he continued to beat her on the head with his feet. The cadet called an ambulance himself, but the woman could not be saved. Tikhonov was drunk at the time of his arrest. Before entering the academy, he served under contract. In the educational institution he is characterised ‘exclusively positively’,’ the report says.
