Three People Convicted In Germany For Exporting Luxury Cars Via Belarus

They received real prison terms.

In Frankfurt an der Oder, three men were sentenced to prison for exporting hundreds of luxury cars via Belarus to Russia, eutsche WelleD reports.

The court counted 430 violations of the Foreign Trade Act against them.

The European Union has sanctions on the supply of luxury cars to Russia. Nevertheless, from March 2022 to March 2024, the men sold cars at a car dealership in Dahlwitz-Hopegarten. They told customs officials that the cars were being sent to Belarus.

Two defendants were sentenced to six years in prison, the third — to four years. The profit from the prohibited transactions in the amount of almost 30 million euros will be confiscated.
