The IDF confirmed the attack.
The IDF's strike on the bunker of the Iranian proxy Hezbollah may have killed its leader Hassan Nasrallah. The IDF Spokesperson's Office reported on September 27 that it was continuing to destroy terrorist hideouts in Lebanon. Israeli journalist Ben Caspit wrote about Nasrallah's possible death on the X social network (Twitter).
Ben Caspit's post appeared online at around 8 pm on September 27. The journalist cites his own anonymous source “in the system”. This source has been claiming for an hour and a half that one of the IDF strikes eliminated Nasrallah and the rest of Hezbollah's top brass. There is no confirmation from other sources in the article.
The IDF Spokesperson's Office published a statement on the evening of September 27 with the results of the current strikes on Hezbollah. An Israeli command spokesman said that the air force launched missile strikes on Hezbollah's central headquarters, which is located under residential buildings in central Beirut. The IDF cannot yet confirm how effective the attack was. The information is being clarified, the Israelis explained.
Meanwhile, videos of a pile of building debris, probably in Beirut, have appeared on social media. The authors of the messages claim that Nasrallah's bunker used to be here. So far, no official statements from Hezbollah have been found about the leader's fate.
