Forbes Reports About Unique Attack Of Ukrainian ‘Dragon’

The flame-throwing drone burned the landing together with the occupants.

Videos with the AFU drone flying along the forest belt, where the occupants are entrenched, and then falling on them with a jet of flame have appeared on the Net. A huge territory caught fire.

From the outside, the footage reminds of some computer game, but for the occupants it was the very true reality.

Experts decided to analyse the attack of the AFU drone, writes the Forbes edition. The video itself was published by an AFU fighter from the 108th Territorial Defence Brigade, who signed the post with one word: Drakaris (a call to the dragon to spew flames from the ‘Game of Thrones’ series - note).

The video shows a drone spraying fire from some kind of ammunition along a forest belt, after which it drops a ‘shell’ on the ground and disappears in an unknown direction.

Experts say that this is a thermite bomb, which the AFU is very fond of dropping on military hardware left by the enemy on the battlefield.

Thermite is a mixture of activated iron oxide and aluminium powder. The reaction can reach temperatures up to 2,200 degrees, which will melt any steel plate.

Thermite grenades are usually used to destroy an artillery weapon or vehicle by melting one of its parts. Most often the AFU throws such grenades into the hatches of abandoned tanks.

Thermite heats to high temperature only the place of its fall, burning it completely. Thermite shells are manufactured in Ukraine itself. The largest weighs over 5kg and burns for up to 22 seconds.
