Amateur Hockey Club Gets Criminal Case After Playing With FSB Team In Russia

The hockey players were arrested.

In the Russian city of Birobidzhan, a criminal case of hooliganism was opened against players of the Tough Guy hockey team after an amateur match with a team from the regional FSB department. The reason was a fight on the ice. The Tough Guy players were arrested, Sibir.Realii reported.

Baza recalls that Tough Guy played with the UFSB team in the spring. It is noted that the match was tense, and a brawl occurred between the teams. As Baza writes, in such situations, the guilty hockey players are usually punished with penalty minutes on the bench, but this time, after the competition, five Tough Guy players were arrested for five days and fined, and the tournament organizers announced their disqualification.

In June, it became known that a criminal case had been opened against the amateur hockey players under the article “Hooliganism committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy related to resistance to a government official”. Three of them signed written undertakings not to leave the country.

On September 26, the police detained two of the players. The investigation requested to arrest them because they had foreign passports and might try to hide from justice.
