Putin Changes His Mind, Declares Readiness To Start Negotiations

Mediated by China and India.

Russia is ready to return to talks with Ukraine on the basis of an agreement reached in Istanbul in the spring of 2022, Putin said.

‘Are we ready to negotiate with them? We have never refused to do so, but not on the basis of some ephemeral demands, but on the basis of those documents that were agreed and actually initialled in Istanbul,’ Putin said at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

At the same time, Putin admitted that China, India or Brazil could become mediators in the peace talks. ‘I am in constant contact with our colleagues on this issue. And I have no doubt that the leaders of these countries are sincerely eager to help sort out all the details of this complex process,’ he said.

It should be noted that after the invasion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in Kursk Region, Putin said that negotiations with Kyiv were pointless. Now Putin has changed his opinion.
