Researchers: US, Its Allies Can Destroy Russia's, China's Nuclear Sites Within Two Hours

The United States and its allies are capable of destroying all nuclear launch sites in Russia and China in two hours, if necessary.

This conclusion was reached by experts Dan Plesch and Manuel Galileo in their study, reports Interesting Engineering.

The analysts focused on the allies' capabilities to carry out a preventive strike by non-nuclear means against enemy strategic nuclear forces.

In particular, the report mentions the US intention to deploy long-range missiles on German territory by 2026.

In addition, attacks against Russia and China's hard-to-reach mobile and stealthy missiles could be carried out by U.S. aircraft using short-range missiles, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. Allied surface assets are also capable of launching cruise missiles.

Despite Russian and Chinese progress in radars, this remains insufficient to counter U.S. stealth systems and those of U.S. allies.

In turn, such air defence systems as Aegis, Patriot, THAAD allow Washington to defeat Russian and Chinese interhemispheric range missiles, as well as air-to-air missiles.

The material also notes the vulnerability of Russian submarines because they are within range of NATO member states.

The analysis demonstrates that the United States and its allies are currently able to outmanoeuvre Moscow's and Beijing's nuclear forces by non-nuclear means.
