Vitsebsk Policeman Shoots His Colleague, Commits Suicide Later

Two policemen were killed in Vitsebsk. They were about 20 years old, and a mistake by one of them could have been fatal, writes Vitsebsk Viasna.

The incident occurred on January 9 in one of the police stations in Vitsebsk. One of the police officers was cleaning his pistol and accidentally shot his colleague, who died on the spot.

Seeing what he had done, the policeman who was cleaning the pistol shot himself. The deceased were both about 20 years old.

The version of Vitsebsk Viasna sources generally coincides with the official one: the Investigative Committee reported that the cause of the incident was careless handling of weapons.
