The main signs have been named.
Retired US Lieutenant General Ben Hodges told Channel 24 that Russia is now in a much weaker position than in 2024. Probably, one of the reasons is the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime, because Putin did not have enough forces to save his ally. This is very telling.
Ben Hodges emphasized that the last Russian submarine was forced to leave the Mediterranean. Russia can no longer use its naval base in Syria.
“These are serious signs of trouble. I also vividly remember February 2024. The news of the capture of Avdiivka confused everyone. Eleven months have passed since then. Russia was able to advance only about 60 kilometers,” the retired US Lieutenant General noted.
He noted that, despite the colossal losses of people and equipment, the Russians did not capture Pokrovsk.
The Russians are also failing to reduce the Ukrainian foothold in the Kursk region. In addition, Ukraine recently launched a new attack in the region. According to Ben Hodges, this indicates serious problems for Russia.
