The Ukrainian defence industry continues to work on its developments of long-range weapons. Footage of new weapons with innovative capabilities has appeared.
A military expert, pilot-instructor, retired Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan explained what the new Ukrainian tactical missile system is capable of for 24 Channel.
In the address of the President of Ukraine on New Year's Eve, the work of the Sapsan, a Ukrainian-made tactical missile system, was shown for the first time.
Work on this development has been going on for 20 years, stopped, restored, etc.
"This project makes it possible to target the Kremlin and Rublevka: two main decision-making centers immediately in a few dozen minutes, if it were to work at full capacity and we had several hundred missiles to perform this task," the military analyst noted.
"Sapsan" can work with ballistic missiles, which have a significant advantage over cruise missiles. The trajectory of their target destruction can even be vertical, which is what allows using several missiles at the same time to destroy a large military facility.
According to Svitan, this missile system can operate at a distance of 300-500 kilometers, in some modifications up to 700 kilometers.
"We will be able to burn everything to Engels, to the Volga River, but the first and main target is Moscow," Svitan emphasized.
