Russia Suffered Record Losses In 2024

Russia suffered record losses in 2024 - 430,790 soldiers. This is equal to almost 36 motorized rifle divisions.

RBC-Ukraine reported citing the Ukrainian Defence Ministry.

As noted, last year the enemy suffered more losses in total than in 2022 and 2023. The greatest losses for the year and during the full-scale war were recorded in December – 48,670 Russian troops. The previous record for losses of the Russian army in manpower was in November 2024 - 45,720 soldiers.

In addition, last year the Ukrainian Defence Forces destroyed and knocked out 3,689 enemy tanks, which is conditionally 119 tank battalions. The largest number of tanks destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces was in May, with 31 tanks of the occupiers destroyed in just one day on May 12. This is the amount of equipment of a tank battalion.

Last year, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed and knocked out 8,956 enemy armored combat vehicles - this is the number of armored combat vehicles of more than 37 motorized rifle divisions. The largest number of enemy armored vehicles destroyed in October 2024 was 923 units. This number of armored combat vehicles destroyed in a month cost Russia approximately at least half a billion dollars.

Last year, Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 13,050 enemy artillery units. This would be enough to equip 725 artillery divisions.

Russia's losses

The Russian regime is trying to hide the losses of its troops in the war against Ukraine. The losses of private military companies, mercenaries and other paramilitary formations are also being hushed up.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Ukrainian military has eliminated more than 792,000 Russians.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia lost more than 98,000 mobilized soldiers in the period from September 21, 2022, to October 31, 2024.
