Two More People Injured In Belarus Due To Explosions Of New Year's Fireworks

A girl and a teenager were hospitalized with injuries to the face and hands.
It has become known about two more people injured due to explosions of fireworks, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.
A young girl and a teenage boy were hospitalized. Both incidents occurred in the Vitsebsk region.
On the evening of January 3, it became known about the hospitalization of a 19-year-old girl with facial injuries. She was injured on January 1 as a result of a firecracker explosion in Hlybokaye in the Vitsebsk region.
In addition, on the night of January 4, a report was received about the hospitalization of a 12-year-old teenager from the urban settlement of Arekhausk, also in the Vitsebsk region, with injuries to the fingers of both hands.
It is important to note that from January 1 to 3, 2025, 26 accidents related to violations of the rules for handling fireworks were recorded. 28 people were injured, including 12 children.

A ban on the sale of pyrotechnic products will come into force in Belarus on January 4, 2025.
“The ban was introduced due to the increasing number of cases of citizens, including children, receiving injuries as a result of violating the rules for the use of pyrotechnic products,” the government press service reported.
