Media: Ukrainian Troops Advance 2.7 Kilometres In Kursk Region On First Day

The fighting is going on east of the Berdin farm.

Ukrainian troops, in all likelihood, marched with fighting 2.7 kilometres during the first day of the new offensive in Kursk region of the aggressor country Russia.

This was reported on 6 January by the Russian publication of ‘Agency.Novosti’ with reference to an OSINT-analyst with the pseudonym of Def Mon.

The latter referred to geolocated footage released by Russian propagandists from RIA Novosti. According to the video they published, the army of the aggressor country Russia ‘repelled AFU attacks in Kursk region’.

The footage shows fighting east of the Berdin farm and west of the village of Novosotnitsky (these settlements are located next to each other).

A map published in a 5 January summary by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) also shows that Ukrainian soldiers have advanced in the southern part of Berdin and reached the road that connects it to Novosotnitskoye.

According to Def Mon, however, it is not yet known whether the AFU fighters have managed to entrench themselves in new positions in Kursk region.

In addition, according to ISW analysis, on Sunday Ukraine intensified its offensive in at least two more areas of the main protrusion in Kursk region: the AFU were advancing near Nikolskoye and Aleksandria (north of Malaya Loknya) and north of Russkaya Konopelka (east of Sudzha).
