Orban: Russia's GDP Is The Size Of A Peanut
Viktor Orban

Hungary will shoot down Russian drones.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in an interview with Harcosok Órája published on September 30, expressed surprise why the West fears the aggressor country Russia.

"I don't understand the behavior of Western Europeans. They are now behaving as if they are in danger. Let's not lose our heads. The Russians have about 131-140 million people and the EU has more than 400 million. Russia's GDP is the size of a peanut, ours is huge, so it's pointless to compare economies," he said.

Orban said that what the Russians spend on defense is only a fraction of what the EU 27 countries spend.

"So by all parameters we are stronger. I never understood: if we are stronger, why do we talk like we are weak?" - the Hungarian prime minister said.

He is convinced that Russia cannot harm Western countries because it is "weak militarily, weak economically and numerically weak." Orban emphasized that the West must behave as a strong community.

Orban also said Hungary will shoot down Russian drones if they violate its airspace. "We are not afraid of that. We will shoot them down, of course," he said.
