In Latvia, Hockey Players Staged A Mass Brawl Over The Russian Language

Players and coaches of Latvian amateur hockey clubs Priedainė and Kekava got into a fight during a match.

According to Priedainė player Denis Benke, the conflict started after the opponents' coach Matiss Ribkinskis told him to get out of Latvia. Ribkinskis himself said he was angered by the fact that the opponents spoke rudely in Russian throughout the game.

After the incident, several hockey players were disqualified for the rest of the season.
