25,000 soldiers escaped in nine months.

The number of desertions in the Russian army is growing rapidly. In nine months alone, more than 25,000 military personnel have run away from the Central Military District.

This is reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine.

According to intelligence, from November 2024 to July 2025, more than 25,000 soldiers and officers left their units arbitrarily. It is noted that this is data only from the Central Military District - one of the five operating in the structure of the occupation army.

The escape occurs in different ways: some abandon their positions directly on the battlefield, others disappear from the points of permanent deployment, and some of the military simply do not return from medical treatment or vacations.

Recorded and cases of desertion along with weapons and even military equipment - only in 2024-2025 counted more than 30 such incidents.

The main reasons for desertion are unbearable conditions of service:

popular hazing,

catastrophic lack of supplies,

mass dispatches to the so-called "meat assaults".

In addition, internal reports of the occupation troops recorded the category of "disobedience of orders" among the causes of death.

"Over the past year, more than 30 such cases have been documented, which actually testifies to the systematic practice of shooting Russian military personnel who refuse to go to slaughter for the Kremlin's ambitions," the GUR noted.
