Russian Actress Put On International Wanted List For Supporting Ukraine

The truth about the war in the Russian Federation was considered a "humiliation".

Russia's Investigative Committee has announced the completion of the investigation into the criminal case against actress Yana Troyanova, writes "Glavred".

According to the agency, Troyanova is wanted internationally. The actress wants to be found and tried for public statements "aimed at humiliating the honor and dignity of persons on national grounds - against Russians."

The actress left the terrorist Russian Federation shortly after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

In June 2023, she gave an interview to Yuri Dudy, in which she criticized the Russian authorities and the invasion of Ukraine, openly called her compatriots beggars and alcoholics, and attributed their support for the war to a lack of intelligence:

"First Putin steals from these people so that they become beggars. It's very hard to survive when you have no money, and it's very hard to love your children when you have to fumble around for something to eat and booze. This poverty is glossed over by propaganda. TV has given itself completely to propaganda.... I was born on the bottom and I know how the bulk of our country's population lives. It's not a life. You're in hell. For today you found something to eat, and also the children have to be collected to school, and here the parents are elderly. And everyone is sick, and everyone stinks. And it's all in hell."

These actions are qualified in Russia as incitement to hatred or enmity. The criminal case has already been sent to the prosecutor for approval of the indictment and subsequent transfer to court. Troyanova, according to the IC, is now abroad.

Yana Troyanova is a Russian theater and film actress and TV presenter. She gained fame thanks to the movies "Volchok", "Live", "Kokoko", "Land of OZ" and the TV series "Olga". She was born on February 12, 1973 in the village of Lechebny, Sverdlovsk region, RSFSR.
