Ukraine Wants To Confiscate Property Of Gomselmash

Because of the production of drone parts.

Ministry of Justice of Ukraine initiated the process of confiscation of property of one of the largest Belarusian manufacturers of agricultural machinery - holding company "Gomselmash.

The Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court on October 1 to seize assets of "Gomselmash" in Ukraine. It concerns stakes in the Ukrainian companies Trade House Gomselmash-Ukraine, Trade House MTZ-Belarus-Ukraine and Promin-Yug, as well as ownership of trademarks.

The Ukrainian Justice Ministry said that the holding's enterprises are involved in the production of components for ammunition and Geran-2 (Shahed) kamikaze drones used by Russia in its war against Ukraine.

Sanctions against Gomselmash were imposed by Ukraine back in May 2023. Now the authorities are demanding to extend them to confiscation of property.
