The U.S. president reiterated his disappointment with Putin.
Ending Russia's war against Ukraine may be more difficult than achieving peace in the Middle East.
At a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, U.S. President Donald Trump said this.
Trump said a deal for peace in the Middle East is close at hand. After "tens of millions of people have been killed," there is a chance for an end to the war.
Trump also added that in the meantime, Russia's war against Ukraine continues, with "7,812 people killed last week." These are mostly soldiers.
"It's crazy - just crazy. I thought this was going to be one of the easy cases. I have a good relationship with Putin (Russian dictator Vladimir Putin - ed.) and I thought this issue could be settled. I am very disappointed in him because I thought it would be easy to settle, but it turned out to be perhaps even more complicated than the Middle East," the president said.
