The US president admitted that he had hoped for an easy resolution to the war in Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump has shared that he is very disappointed with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin because he thought the war in Ukraine could be easily resolved. The White House chief stated this during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
"I thought it was going to be easy.... I was very disappointed in him because I thought it would be easy to settle," Trump said.
At the same time, he added that it might be harder to end the war in Ukraine than in the Middle East.
"But maybe it's even harder than the Middle East. We'll see what happens in the Middle East," the US president added.
The White House chief again shared the statistic that more than 7,000 military personnel are killed weekly in the war in Ukraine and called it "insane."
