Peter Pavel said that NATO countries need to destroy Russian airplanes.

Czech President Petr Pavel said that violation of the airspace of NATO countries by Russia cannot be tolerated and it is necessary to show force. His words are quoted by Ceske Noviny.

He said that the West should show force and give an adequate response. At the same time, he noted that not every airspace violation should lead to the destruction of airplanes. But if Russia continues its actions, it will be "necessary," Pavel argued.

In a reverse situation, Moscow would not hesitate for a minute, the Czech president said.

"They are checking how the air defense of individual states works, how the integrated air defense system of NATO works, how determined we are to confront it for our own defense," Pavel said.
