The Secretary of State called the Biden-era move to the sans serif Calibri font "wasteful."

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ordered the return of the Times New Roman font to the State Department as part of the fight against "diversity" during the time of former U.S. President Joe Biden. The newspaper The New York Times cited sources as saying so.

"Rubio called the Biden-era move to a sans serif font 'wasteful,' viewing the return to Times New Roman as part of an effort to eradicate ideas of diversity," the publication said."

The newspaper, citing the memo, notes that Rubio believes that returning to using the Times New Roman font would "restore decency and professionalism to the department's written work." The document says Calibri is "informal" compared to serif fonts such as Times New Roman and is "at odds" with the department's official letterhead.
