Merz Supported Armenia's Accession To The European Union

The FRG Chancellor met with Nikol Pashinyan.

German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz supported Armenia's European integration during a meeting with the country's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This is reported by Der Spiegel.

The FRG chancellor said during Pashinyan's visit to Berlin that it was a "historic opportunity" for Armenia to move closer to the European Union. According to him, the path to Europe is open, especially after the start of the peace process between Yerevan and Baku.

"We agree that now there is a great opportunity for Armenia and Azerbaijan to follow the European path. We are following the changes in the region with great attention," Merz said.
