Russia's Largest Chemical Plant Is On Fire In Novgorod

The night of Thursday, December 11, was turbulent in the Novgorod region of the Russian Federation. Explosions went off in Veliky Novgorod, a chemical plant of PJSC Akron was under UAV attack there, writes OBOZ.UA.
The enemy air defense tried to work on the targets, but the drones still hit the target. A fire broke out at the plant - seen in footage that locals posted online.

The company attacked by drones is one of Russia's largest chemical production facilities. Some of Akron's products and raw materials are dual-use, in particular, used as a key component in the production of explosives.
In the meantime, Novgorod Region Governor Alexander Dronov said that an air defense system was operating in the region.
"All operational services are on high alert. Please remain calm. I keep the situation under my personal control," he wrote.
