Ukraine Hands US Response To Trump's Peace Plan

Before that, Kiev consulted with European partners for several days.

Ukraine handed over its step-by-step response to the US on December 10 to the latest draft of Trump's "peace plan," Axios reported, citing Ukrainian and US officials.

According to the publication, the head of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council and chief negotiator for Vladimir Zelensky Rustem Umerov has sent a response to the peace plan to Donald Trump's representative and son-in-law Jared Kushner.

A source in Kiev explained that the Ukrainian version of the document contains comments, clarifications and proposals that should make the entire draft peace agreement "realizable." The details of these revisions are not given, but it is specified that Ukraine also presented new ideas concerning the disputed issues - the status of territories and the situation around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.

Before this, Kiev consulted with European partners - primarily France, Germany and the UK - for several days.

In the meantime, Trump himself also held a telephone conversation with the leaders of the EU's "big three." According to him, the discussion of the situation in Ukraine took place "in pretty harsh terms." European leaders offered to organize his face-to-face meeting with Zelensky next weekend somewhere in the EU, but Trump reacted with restraint, noting that he did not intend to "waste time."

It is expected that as early as December 11, senior U.S. and Ukrainian military officials will hold an online meeting to continue discussing certain provisions of the peace plan.
