Venezuela Sends Warships To Escort Oil Ships After U.S. Statements

Washington is informed of Caracas' actions.

The Venezuelan authorities have ordered the involvement of naval forces to escort ships with oil products leaving the national ports.

The New York Times reports this.

The publication reports that such a decision was taken after the U.S. president's statements about the possible blocking of Venezuelan supplies.

According to journalists, on the night of December 17, several cargo ships left the coast of Venezuela under the protection of warships.

On board are shipments of urea, petroleum coke and other products of the oil industry, which are headed mainly to Asian countries.

One of the representatives of the U.S. administration confirmed that Washington is informed about the actions of Caracas and is analyzing possible options for further retaliatory steps.
