Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said that America has proposed holding a trilateral meeting of Ukraine, the United States and Russia at the level of national security advisers (NSA). Kiev supports this idea.
As RBC-Ukraine reports, Zelensky said this in response to a question from journalists.
The head of state informed that he was told about the proposal by the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, who is now in the United States and held talks yesterday with American and European partners on ending the war.
"As for Umerov, he called me and said that America proposes a trilateral meeting of NSA (national security advisers - ed.) - America, Ukraine, Russia," Zelensky said.
At the same time, the president noted that he is not sure that this meeting will bring something new, but added that previously similar meetings were held in Turkey and they gave a certain result. In particular, the return of captured military and civilian. Therefore, Ukraine supports America's proposal.
"If now there can be such a meeting that unblocks exchanges, or the result of the trilateral NSA meeting can be an agreement on a trilateral meeting of leaders - I cannot be against it. We will support the U.S. proposal," Zelensky summarized.
