The Ukrainian Command Is Preparing An Important Replacement

Quick decisions will be made to protect Odessa.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has reacted to the situation with Russian shelling of Odessa, which has intensified in the last week. Now the state is strengthening air defense and the issue of replacing the command has already been discussed.

As RBC-Ukraine reports, Zelensky said this while answering a question from journalists.

The head of state said that there will be quick decisions to protect Odessa. In particular, to replace the commander of the air command "South" Dmytro Karpenko - are already looking for another candidate.

"We are now fighting for Odessa, strengthen air defense. We will also strengthen the command. I have discussed this issue today, regarding the replacement of the commander of the "South" VC Karpenko. I think they will find another candidate. Because we need to react in time, quickly, despite, no matter how difficult it is for us," Zelensky said.

He added that no matter how difficult it is to react, but we need to protect people, Odessa and other regions of Ukraine as much as possible.
