Russia has liquidated Stanislav Orlov, known by the call sign "Spaniard," who created and led the Espanyola volunteer brigade. Orlov was a terrorist and one of the organizers of the armed formation gathered from soccer ultras and far-right radicals, writes OBOZ.UA

His death was first reported by members of Española itself. They confirmed the death of their commander, saying that the circumstances of the incident were being clarified and that official conclusions would be made following a check by Russian investigative authorities.

One of RTVI's sources claimed that Orlov was detained as part of a criminal case under Article 222 of the Russian Criminal Code (illegal trafficking of weapons), while another said that Orlov died "shooting back during the arrest." There was also information, after being detained, he was in a comatose state for several days and died later.

Orlov was known as a member of CSKA's Red Blue Warriors fan movement and took part in the fighting in Donbass back in 2014. He also cooperated with the "Union of Donbass Volunteers," a structure linked to the entourage of the Russian authorities.

The Española he created was positioned as a "volunteer brigade," but was actually an armed group of soccer fans and neo-Nazis. According to investigators, the unit received funding from Russian Railways security chief Viktor Shendrik, who is linked to business structures close to Vladimir Putin.

The brigade was disbanded in early October, with sources in the Z-environment claiming that the decision was made under pressure from "above."
