And foretold disaster for Hungary.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said that his country is helping Ukraine and does not want its destruction. He noted that the fall of Ukraine would be a "catastrophe" for Budapest. He wrote about this in his post on the social network X.
"People in rural areas understand this perfectly well: the price of your land plot depends not only on the quality of your property, but also on who your neighbor is, what condition it is in and who lives there," Orban noted.
Hungary supplies 44% of electricity and 58% of gas to Ukraine, he said. The politician believes that without this, Ukraine would have collapsed by now.
Orban noted that Budapest provides aid to Kiev, although "some of it is being plundered." However, he added that preserving Ukraine is in Hungary's interest.
"Meanwhile, the war is weakening Ukraine day by day. Peace is the only thing that can strengthen it. Everyone who is really on Ukraine's side should strive for peace, and should strive for it now," the Hungarian prime minister emphasized.
